Westerschouwen Forestry

Westerschouwen Forestry is the largest forest in Zeeland and one of the most beautiful areas in the province. The dune landscape is hilly and is home to sand drifts, valleys and dune meadows, and bird-rich forest edges with various trees and plants. Discover the area on foot, by bike or on horseback, or join a guide from Staatsbosbeheer. The 330 hectare nature reserve offers countless recreational opportunities. In the past, the area was a drifting plain, but over the years Staatsbosbeheer has planted pine and deciduous trees there, including oak, birch, poplars and balsam poplars.
